Senator Max Baucus of Montana scheduled 20 town hall meetings around his state to discuss health care. He then sent staffers to take notes and a videotape of himself to be played at the meetings. “I really want to hear from you,” Baucus said in the tape. Baucus did not attend a single gathering. I guess “hearing from you” is what staffers are for. Obama is on pace to read about 10 books a year. That is far less than George Bush’s 95, 51 and 40 in 2006, 2007 and 2008, respectively. Karl Rov
